Not one
to be
overshadowed
by the
dangerous
yet troubled
Andre
Rison,
Shawn
Collins
surpised
everybody
with the
best receiving
season
to date,
consistently
hauling
in loads
of yardage
while
Rison
sulked
on the
bottom
of the
screen.
Eventually
Rison
started
taking
over,
but had
Collins
merely
played
the way
he was
expected,
Rison
may have
mailed
it in
all year.

After a couple
seasons of either
a) barely surpassing
the 3000 passing
yard mark (Cincinnati)
or b) missing
the mark entirely
(that sorry Phoenix
squad), I felt
I would enjoy
the time spent
with the high-octane
Atlanta offense.
I wasn't disappointed.
Bad Moon Rison
started slow,
but finished with
a Larry Johnson-esque
flurry. Shawn
Collins emerged
from the shadow
of his wingmate
to catch for over
1700 yards. Even
Cliff Rozier got
into the typically
pass-happy action,
not missing one
snap and rushing
for over 1150
yards.
The run&shoot
playbook is geared
perfectly towards
lots of yards.
Rozier's given
all the options
he needs for running
room, and all
but one of Chris
Miller's pass
plays inevitably
leads to someone
being open downfield.
And when it's
4th and whatever,
it's always good
to have that Shotgun
Curl in your back
pocket.
Defensively you
can't complain
about playing
as Primetime.
Deion Sanders
is one of only
four defensive
guys in the game
to have a 75 Max
Speed rating,
and you enjoy
it here as he
flies around the
field like a rat
looking for cheese. |
