Boy, Dan Marino
was definitely
given a cannon
arm in this game.
Passes rarely
got more than
6 feet off the
ground no matter
where on the field
he was aiming.
Suprisingly enough
though, he only
had one 300 yard
game (barely)
and didn't crack
the 4000 yard
mark fo the season,
a number I thought
was a sure bet.
Still, his 76.4
completion percentage
is a new record
for now as he,
time and time
again, would thread
the needle for
any of his receivers.
The receivers themselves
were nothing spectacular.
Had any of them
been, it wouldn't
have been such
a close call to
get them over
1000 yards for
the season since
Dan was doing
everything but
carrying them
into the endzone.
Still, they didn't
drop many passes.
The pass plays
were good enough.
The Shotgun Bomb
is pretty worthless
but the Shotgun
Curl is great.
The Pro T Waggle
L was rarely used
since Dan wears
cement shoes and
the Pro T Flare
C came in handy
once in awhile.
The running game
was a joke. Players
were constantly
getting injured
and they were
all terrible anyway,
which led to a
leading back with
barely 500 yards
and no one averaging
over 5.0 yards
per carry. Two
runs up the middle
eventually proved
to be the only
plays worth anything
as no back had
enough speed to
make the two sweeps
work at all.
My favorite part
of this team may
have been the
defense, where
I blew away the
team record for
INTs with 15,
averaging almost
one per game.
This led to me
rarely using anyone
but the DBs which
meant very few
sacks.
